Sir Elton Hercules John (Reginald Kenneth Dwight) was born on March 25, 1947 in Pinner, Middlesex, England. Elton started playing the piano at age 5 and began a band at the age of 14 called Bluesology. The name Elton John came from two band members from Bluesology, Elton Dean and Long John Baldry. Elton John is known for his eccentric nature and charismatic albums, such as Madman Across The Water, Honky Chateau, I'm Only The Piano Player, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Elton John is known to be one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time.
